Chemical Technician I (Explosives Manufacturing)

Location: Hollister, California, United States; US citizenship or qualifying US-person status is required for government export-control compliance.

Salary: $16.92–$31.44 per hour, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Follow safety procedures, standard operating processes, and regulatory requirements for explosive and hazardous-material operations.
• Break down and prepare 1.1 and 1.3 explosives for production and chemical analysis, progressing from observation to supervised and independent operations.
• Weigh raw materials and support propellant mixing, casting, curing, milling, tooling, and post-operation cleanup.
• Clean, measure, weigh, crimp, point, sample, cut, and otherwise process inert and loaded metal tubes for linear formed explosives.
• Record material movement, traceability, inventory, time worked, travelers, and process paperwork.
• Handle solvent and explosive waste and participate in 5S, FOD control, daily management meetings, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience handling explosives or other hazardous materials.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and mechanical skills.
• US citizenship or qualifying US-person status is required for ongoing employment and export-control compliance.
• Strong safety focus, attention to detail, and willingness to complete specialized training.
