Company

hirify.global develops and supports engineered products and systems, including safety-related components for nuclear power plants.

What you will do

  • Prepare design reports, structural calculation packages, and technical evaluations for safety-related nuclear components.
  • Perform structural, stress, and fatigue analyses involving pressure, seismic events, thermal transients, operating dynamics, and external piping loads.
  • Build finite element models in ANSYS, apply boundary conditions, run simulations, and post-process stress results.
  • Review and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks to support analytical accuracy and design feasibility.
  • Work with design engineering to propose geometry, material, and structural improvements that meet customer specifications and ASME Section III/BPVC codes.
  • Validate numerical models with closed-form calculations and engineering fundamentals.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil/structural engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Completed sophomore or junior year preferred, with a minimum 3.3 GPA.
  • Foundational knowledge of statics, dynamics, strength of materials, fluid and thermal dynamics, and structural mechanics.
  • Academic or project experience with finite element software, preferably ANSYS Mechanical, and 3D parametric CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with structural load evaluation, including pressure containment, seismic response, and external mechanical loading.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document assumptions, methods, and conclusions.

Culture & Benefits

  • Part-time internship assignment from May 2027 through September 2027.
  • The position may involve exposure to export-controlled information and additional security screening.
  • Accommodation is available during the recruitment and assessment process upon request.
