VP, Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid role based in Herndon, Virginia, USA; on-site 2–3 days per week. Candidates are expected to live within approximately 50 miles of the office.

Base salary: $210,300–$284,500 USD annually, plus bonus plans.

What you will do

• Own the global enterprise strategy and governance for security clearances, personnel security, physical security, classified facility operations, and related compliance programs.
• Oversee clearance administration, onboarding, transfers, reinvestigations, debriefings, and personnel security status changes.
• Translate federal security and regulatory requirements into company policies, processes, controls, and scalable operating models.
• Lead responses to government inquiries, audits, inspections, regulatory reviews, and customer security requirements.
• Advise executive leadership on security, regulatory, operational, customer, and reputational risks.
• Build and scale a high-performing security organization while partnering with Legal, HR, Government Contracts, Information Security, IT, Facilities, and business leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Security, Government, Business, Compliance, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in government security, personnel security, enterprise security, security clearance administration, compliance, or a related discipline.
• Significant leadership experience in a cleared defense, intelligence, cybersecurity, technology, government contracting, or similarly regulated organization.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. government security clearance and personnel security requirements, as well as the regulatory and contractual environment supporting U.S. government customers.
• Proven ability to advise executive leadership and lead complex security organizations and enterprise security programs.
• Active U.S. government security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain the clearance required for the position; applicants must have the right to work in the United States.
