Business Control Manager (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; four days per week in the office and Fridays from home

Base salary: $101,000–$140,000 USD per year, with potential bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Growth Marketing and hirify.global Enterprise business and control owners to translate risk outcomes into practical control implementation plans.
• Review business requirements, projects, process and product changes, incidents, complaints, and regulatory developments to identify controls, gaps, dependencies, and implementation needs.
• Drive control workstreams through implementation, validation, documentation, evidence review, and closure.
• Evaluate existing business activities, procedures, system capabilities, evidence, and control records to identify coverage gaps.
• Recommend whether controls should be reused, enhanced, created, consolidated, or retired.
• Track exceptions, remediation commitments, and dependencies, escalating material design, ownership, exposure, and delivery concerns.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in business controls, regulatory compliance, operational risk, audit, operations, or a related discipline.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, consumer financial services, or another highly regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience taking controls or process improvements from defined requirements through implementation, evidence review, documentation, and closure.
• Strong analytical, execution, project-management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Working knowledge of EFTA and Regulation E, TILA and Regulation Z, UDAAP, or comparable regulatory and consumer protection frameworks.
