Provider Enrollment Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, nationwide within the United States; position listed in Sacramento, California.

Salary: $22.90–$28.63 per hour, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.

What you will do

• Prepare, submit, scan, and monitor approximately 1,000 provider enrollment applications annually for Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, CAQH, and other payer programs.
• Track approvals, follow up with payer representatives, and communicate enrollment status to billing teams before timely filing deadlines.
• Coordinate credentialing, initial and add-on applications, updates, revalidations, deactivations, and ongoing maintenance with providers and administrators.
• Maintain Salesforce enrollment contracts, billing data, payer documentation, dashboards, reports, and bulk data imports.
• Use DocuSign to distribute provider enrollment documents, obtain signatures, and follow up on submitted documentation.
• Research and resolve payer and billing issues, support process improvements, and help protect revenue and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma combined with relevant work experience.
• 2–4 years of related healthcare experience; 3+ years is preferred.
• Knowledge of provider enrollment, billing or reimbursement, Medicare and Medicaid enrollment systems, NPI taxonomies, and credentialing processes.
• Knowledge of Salesforce enrollment and contract objects, dashboards, reporting, and Data Loader.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Teams, SharePoint, and other technology-based tools.
• Ability to work independently remotely on a full-time basis, manage deadlines accurately, and communicate with providers, payers, billing teams, and internal departments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Medicaid revalidations, license expirations, deactivations, managed care data flows, billing manuals, and state administrative codes.
