Medical Records Representative (Healthcare)

Location: Remote Idaho; must reside within Boise or Meridian, Idaho. The role requires up to 50% statewide travel, occasional overnight travel for up to one week, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and work during Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm MST.

Salary: $43,000–$56,200 per year.

What you will do

• Retrieve medical records from provider offices for reviews and audits using phone, email, and other retrieval methods.
• Collect, validate, reconcile, and obtain required provider signatures on medical records.
• Upload verified documentation to the Cotiviti centralized repository while maintaining data integrity and quality.
• Follow HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and internal procedures when handling protected health information.
• Use company-issued laptops, portable scanners, and encrypted storage devices to manage records securely.
• Independently manage high-volume workloads and meet productivity, quality, service-level, and operational deadlines.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• At least 1 year of medical records experience.
• At least 1 year of daily experience using Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams and Outlook.
• Experience working independently, solving problems, managing high-volume workloads, and communicating with internal and external partners.
• Experience in a healthcare or managed-care environment, such as provider offices, billing, coding, or release of information.
• Valid state driver's license, personal vehicle liability insurance, reliable transportation, and availability for statewide travel are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Epic and other EMR systems.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/10 codes.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
