Hardware Design Co-Op (Winter 2027 - 4 Months)

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Pay range: $25.50–$35.00/hour

What you will do

• Review alternate components for second-source qualification and component obsolescence.
• Execute hardware verification plans for Packet Optical platform products.
• Debug prototype hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, protocol generators, and signal generators.
• Investigate hardware issues reported from products in the field.
• Modify circuit packs to support testing or resolve issues identified during verification.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a degree program in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Familiarity with laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and test sets.
• Knowledge of measurement techniques.
• Understanding of high-speed signaling, transmission lines, and digital and analog design.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and debugging hardware.
• Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools.
