Wet-lab Scientist (AI)

Location: On-site in Cambridge, MA (Kendall Square); no remote or hybrid work

Salary: $35–150 per hour, depending on experience and expertise

What you will do

• Participate in a one-week research study measuring the difficulty of wet-lab tasks across different skill levels.
• Perform a molecular cloning protocol using provided instructions.
• Execute laboratory procedures related to genetic engineering and molecular biology.
• Provide data supporting future AI augmentation of laboratory tasks.
• Complete approximately 10–20 hours of experimental work, depending on expertise.

Requirements

• Must be located within commuting distance of Cambridge, MA during the study.
• Must complete the experiment within one week on a defined schedule.
• Commit to either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.
• Choose a morning, afternoon, or evening shift; each day requires approximately five hours.
• Relevant experience with molecular cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, gene manipulation, transformation, transfection, cell culture, or sequencing.
• Experience levels range from novice and general bench-work experience to 5+ years of specialized genetic engineering experience, including PhD candidates and postdocs.
