Payroll Analyst (Ecommerce)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; four days in the office Monday–Thursday and one remote day on Friday

Salary: $71,500–$79,750 per year

What you will do

• Support end-to-end U.S. payroll processing, including regular, off-cycle, bonus, termination, and supplemental payrolls.
• Review payroll inputs, earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, garnishments, and system changes for accuracy.
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, and documentation.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and payroll-related tickets.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, HRIS, Legal, and external payroll providers.
• Support multi-state payroll tax filings, compliance, year-end activities, controls, process improvements, and automation.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of U.S. payroll experience, preferably with a multi-state employee population.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements, compliance, reconciliations, and payroll reporting.
• Experience with payroll systems or HRIS platforms such as Workday, plus Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with SQL or GBQ and data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, accuracy, and confidentiality skills, with a bachelor’s degree.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship from hirify.global is required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting payroll populations of 5,000 or more employees.
• Experience with external payroll vendors, payroll audits, process documentation, and internal controls.
• Knowledge of payroll accounting, garnishments, benefits deductions, and payroll tax reporting.
