Senior Director, Translational Bioinformatics (AI/ML)

Location: 100% onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $210,900–$379,200 per year, plus potential bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Define and execute the Translational Bioinformatics strategy across the oncology portfolio.
• Lead integrated analyses of tumor, immune, multi-omic, and clinical data to characterize pharmacodynamic effects, mechanisms of action, response, resistance, and patient heterogeneity.
• Partner with Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Biomarkers, Biostatistics, Research, and other R&D functions to guide development decisions.
• Advance validated, reproducible, interpretable AI/ML methods, scalable analytics, and automated workflows.
• Lead and develop computational scientists and senior technical experts while setting priorities, standards, and operating models.
• Represent Translational Bioinformatics in governance forums, alliance partnerships, and external collaborations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, plus 11+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep expertise in tumor immunology, including T-cell biology, antigen processing and presentation, HLA biology, tumor microenvironment, and immune escape.
• Expertise in cancer genomics, translational bioinformatics, multi-omic integration, and clinical or translational datasets.
• Experience leading computational or translational teams in matrixed R&D environments and developing scientists and senior technical contributors.
• Strong communication, executive presence, stakeholder management, statistical, machine-learning, and AI skills, with technical depth in Python and/or R.

Nice to have

• Experience in personalized medicine, cancer vaccines, neoantigen biology, immunogenomics, or computational immunology.
• Experience with oncology clinical development, biomarker strategy, patient stratification, mechanism-of-action, and mechanism-of-resistance analyses.
• Experience with single-cell or spatial profiling, immune-repertoire analysis, immunopeptidomics, circulating biomarkers, or digital pathology.
• Scientific impact through publications, presentations, collaborations, or novel computational approaches.
