Salary: $110,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Support nationwide federal and state court litigation across hirify.global entities.
• Select and manage outside counsel, including litigation and settlement strategies and review of pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs.
• Supervise litigation specialists and direct defense litigation support workflows.
• Audit, negotiate, and approve outside law firm invoices within litigation budget parameters.
• Prepare litigation risk and case status reports for senior management, investors, insurers, lenders, regulators, and capital market transactions.
• Collaborate with internal management and cross-functional teams to resolve active legal matters.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney, preferably admitted in California or Texas.
• Significant business litigation experience, preferably in mortgage servicing-related defense litigation.
• Understanding of civil litigation procedures and local rules for state and federal courts.
• Strong writing, organizational, critical-thinking, problem-solving, mathematical, and judgment skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with attorneys, litigation specialists, and executive management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, reporting, and information-retrieval processes.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of mortgage origination or servicing, particularly foreclosure and loss mitigation.
• Experience managing attorneys and paralegals.
• Class action and trial experience.
• Experience with mortgage servicing systems and the financial services or mortgage industry.
