Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Manager

What you will do

• Lead the implementation, governance, and execution of Advanced Work Packaging and Workforce Planning strategies on large industrial projects.
• Develop and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure, Path of Construction, Construction Work Areas, and engineering, procurement, construction, and installation work packages.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, quality, commissioning, and project controls teams to align package development with project schedules and construction readiness.
• Monitor material availability, engineering completion, constraints, productivity indicators, readiness dashboards, and package status.
• Support modularization, heavy lift planning, commissioning readiness, mechanical completion, and system turnover strategies.
• Train project personnel and contractors on AWP methodologies, standards, and best practices while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent construction experience may substitute.
• At least 10 years of experience supporting major industrial construction projects, including at least 5 years implementing and managing AWP programs on large capital projects.
• Experience with LNG, petrochemical, refinery, gas processing, power generation, mining, or other large industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of AWP, Workforce Planning, construction and installation work packages, Path of Construction, construction readiness, constraint management, project controls, scheduling, and turnover planning.
• Experience in EPC, EPCM, or owner-led project environments and a strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning workflows.
• Demonstrated multidisciplinary leadership, stakeholder influence, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Direct SAGD project experience.
• AWP Professional Certification from the AWP Certification Institute or an equivalent organization.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, Power BI, InEight, Hexagon, Smart Construction, or similar project execution and AWP platforms.
• Experience with modular construction, fabrication yards, global procurement programs, or projects exceeding $1 billion in total installed cost.
• PMP certification.
