Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) II (Cybersecurity)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States. Candidates must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Salary: $190,000–$250,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and additional incentives.

What you will do

• Serve as a security engineering subject matter expert for containerized environments, service meshes, microservices, and APIs.
• Design, implement, and manage security controls including image scanning, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, endpoint protection, encryption, runtime protection, RBAC, and network segmentation.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows while supporting RMF, NIST SP 800-53, ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP compliance.
• Configure security monitoring and logging solutions, including Splunk and Prisma Cloud or similar tools, and investigate anomalies and incidents.
• Conduct threat analysis, risk assessments, security checks, and assessments of container orchestration platforms, microservices, and APIs.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, development, IT, ISSO, and compliance stakeholders while documenting architectures, controls, monitoring strategies, findings, and remediation actions.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly.
• CISSP or an equivalent certification supporting DoD 8140 requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of cybersecurity engineering experience designing security controls, continuous monitoring, auditing, and compliance implementations.
• Experience with Splunk, Fortify, Acunetix, Prisma Cloud, incident response, forensic analysis, and security incident handling.
• Hands-on experience securing cloud, container, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps environments in IL5 to IL6+ settings; OpenShift experience is preferred.
