Senior Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States. Onsite role with 35% travel and standard working hours.

Basic compensation: $165,000–$185,000 annually for the Washington, D.C. area.

What you will do

• Coordinate and manage cybersecurity assessment and authorization activities for IT hardware, software, and connectivity capabilities.
• Support system authorization, risk management, accreditation, vulnerability management, scanning, auditing, and incident response activities.
• Maintain compliance with the DoD Risk Management Framework under DoDI 8510.01, including security documentation, SOPs, and POA&M guidance.
• Analyze requirements, design and integrate complex software applications and collaboration infrastructures, and assess security impacts of proposed changes.
• Review maintenance deliverables and proposals, document security implementations, and support secure software and cloud infrastructure practices.
• Present authorization status, risks, roadblocks, and technical issues to intelligence, acquisition, and leadership audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related technical field.
• 9+ years of technical experience in cybersecurity or information technology, with recent ISSM experience preferred.
• DoD 8570 IAT/IAM Level I or II certification.
• Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, Cisco IOS/NX-OS, networking, data storage, client/server technologies, cloud security, DevSecOps, and SSDLC principles.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Experience working with Special Access Programs (SAPs) required.

Nice to have

• Advanced technical degree and Sec+, CASP, or CISSP certification.
• Software development knowledge in Java, Python, Ruby, or C++.
• Red Hat/RHEL or CentOS Linux expertise.
• Experience with Fortify, SonarQube, Prisma Cloud/Twistlock, StackRox, or Anchore.
