Senior Engineer, Control Systems (Manufacturing Automation)

Location: Austin, Texas; based at the Burnet facility. The role includes approximately 10% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $89,500–$124,500 per year.

What you will do

• Improve the safety, productivity, and efficiency of manufacturing systems through controls engineering and automation.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing control systems, equipment, processes, AC/DC circuits, and instrumentation.
• Program and support Allen Bradley and Omron PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, OPC servers, and related software.
• Lead projects involving manufacturing capacity expansion, product transitions to high-volume manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct equipment design reviews and create, read, and revise electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Manage the site PLC project portfolio, documentation, operational procedures, software revisions, and contractor support.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering or a related degree is desired.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or semiconductor controls, including PLC/HMI programming with Allen Bradley and Omron platforms.
• Experience with ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC-500, PowerFlex VFDs, PanelView, Stratix, Omron CJ series, and Omron NS/NT HMIs.
• Experience with RSView32, PanelBuilder32, FactoryTalk View, RSLogix, RSLinx, CX-One, and NT support tools.
• Knowledge of industrial networking, SCADA, OPC, electrical and pneumatic control systems, cabinet design, instrumentation, and AC/DC power distribution.
• Demonstrated leadership, independent working ability, cross-functional influence, communication, technical presentation, and deadline management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with chemical synthesis and distillation.
• Function Block and Sequential Function Chart programming experience.
• Allen Bradley PlantPAx and LBSM programming experience.
• Visual Basic programming experience.
