TL;DR
Contracts Manager (Aerospace/Defense): Managing U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community contracts across proposal support, negotiation, administration, compliance, and closeout with an accent on FAR/DFARS requirements, contract risk, and government stakeholder coordination. Focus on administering complex contract actions, supporting audits and regulatory compliance, and resolving scope, funding, schedule, and performance issues.

Location: Hybrid role near Centennial, Colorado, with some work required onsite. Candidates must meet U.S. government export-control requirements.

Base salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, plus equity participation.

What you will do

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community contracts across the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Support proposal development, contract negotiations, representations and certifications, terms and conditions, and cost and pricing reviews.
  • Administer modifications, change orders, option exercises, funding actions, deliverables, correspondence, and contract closeout.
  • Monitor scope, funding, schedule, compliance, and performance risks, including scope creep, constructive changes, and unauthorized commitments.
  • Coordinate with Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer Representatives, program managers, engineering, finance, legal, and suppliers.
  • Maintain audit-ready files, compliance trackers, dashboards, internal controls, and contracting playbooks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of DoD and/or Intelligence Community contract administration experience.
  • Active U.S. security clearance required at the TS level minimum; TS/SCI preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and applicable agency-specific regulatory supplements.
  • Experience with government Contracting Officers or CORs, contract modifications, funding actions, REAs, and/or closeout.
  • Experience with government contract types such as firm-fixed-price, OTAs, cost-plus, time-and-materials, and IDIQ contracts.
  • Proficiency with contract management systems, SAM.gov, and Microsoft Office, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, a startup, or a high-growth company.
  • Experience supporting classified programs.
  • Familiarity with DCAA and DCMA audits and oversight.
