Maintenance Technician VIII (Automation)

Location: Onsite in Kinston, North Carolina, United States

Salary: $66,580–$77,792 USD annual base salary, plus participation in an annual bonus plan or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain automated machinery, conveyor systems, robotics, PLCs, automated storage systems, and other facility equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, calibration, parts replacement, inspections, and performance planning.
• Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement timely repairs and process improvements.
• Add preventive-maintenance tasks and parts to the CMMS and maintain accurate work orders, equipment logs, and inventory records.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize automated systems and support facility-management activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment, follow OSHA and company safety requirements, and train new technicians and operators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or an associate degree is preferred.
• Experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a highly automated distribution center or manufacturing facility.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including the ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to troubleshoot conveyors, robotics, PLCs, automated storage systems, and 240VAC, 480VAC, and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and safety skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergency maintenance situations.
