Electrical NPI Product Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

Salary: $117,800–$172,800 annually

What you will do

• Build and test electrical and electromechanical assemblies for design validation and assembly procedure development.
• Partner with design engineering to organize prototype materials, complete product designs, and build prototype assemblies.
• Create and release product bills of material, assembly procedures, tooling, and packaging for qualified assemblies.
• Investigate prototype issues through assembly, testing, and system integration in a cleanroom environment.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and field service teams to support production, field-replaceable assemblies, and continuous improvement projects.
• Prepare engineering change orders and implement design and process changes that improve manufacturability and serviceability.

Requirements

• Doctorate with no related experience, master's degree with 3 years of related experience, or bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience building and testing electrical or electromechanical subsystems, PCAs, power supplies, cable harnesses, and motors.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with a globally distributed team.
• Work from the Milpitas, California location.

Nice to have

• Experience with optical-based semiconductor inspection or metrology equipment.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software, preferably ProE/CREO.
