Senior Software Engineer II - Cloud Detection Engine (Hybrid)

Location: New York, NY, USA; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week onsite

Base salary: $160,000–$250,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead backend engineering from rapid prototypes through large-scale production applications across CrowdStrike products.
• Design, build, and scale cloud services that process internet-scale data streams and generate real-time detections.
• Develop and maintain streaming, graph, correlation, and execution systems for identifying multi-stage attacks.
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams to define architecture, data models, and platform capabilities.
• Improve system performance, stability, scalability, and resilience while owning work from design through production.
• Mentor developers and contribute to engineering practices, testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or professional experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of scalability concepts including sharding, partitioning, and concurrency.
• Experience with engineering best practices, testing, code reviews, resilient architecture, and continuous integration.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, test-driven programming environment.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
• Availability to work onsite in New York, NY, 2–3 days per week as part of the hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, C++, Scala, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, or related technologies.
• Experience in cybersecurity or intelligence.
• Experience designing programming languages, compilers, or related systems.
• Open-source contributions through GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging, or similar work.
