Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Endogenous Biomarkers and Translational ADME

Location: On premise in Groton, Connecticut, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. Relocation support may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $64,600–$107,600, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Evaluate endogenous CYP biomarkers across diverse clinical datasets and investigate biological and mechanistic factors affecting performance.
• Study the effects of metabolic enzymes, membrane transporters, renal and biliary clearance, and enterohepatic processes on biomarker disposition.
• Identify and explain variability or discordance among candidate biomarkers.
• Develop quantitative relationships between biomarker responses and pharmacokinetic changes in sensitive CYP substrates.
• Integrate bioanalysis, mechanistic ADME, clinical pharmacology, quantitative modeling, and scientific communication to support clinical DDI assessment.

Requirements

• PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, chemical biology, quantitative pharmacology, or a related discipline.
• Research experience in bioanalysis, in vitro drug metabolism, membrane transporter research, or another area directly related to mechanistic ADME.
• Ability to design, conduct, analyze, and interpret hypothesis-driven research and complex quantitative datasets.
• Evidence of scientific productivity through publications, manuscripts, conference presentations, or comparable contributions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, and experimental-detail skills.
• U.S. work authorization required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Hands-on quantitative LC-MS/MS experience, including assay development and analysis of small molecules, metabolites, or endogenous biomarkers.
• Experience with recombinant CYP enzymes, human liver microsomes, hepatocytes, or transporter assays.
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic and drug-drug interaction principles.
• Familiarity with PBPK modeling, population pharmacokinetics, pharmacometrics, R, Python, MATLAB, or comparable tools.
