AI Tech Lead (Generative AI)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; onsite at the work location

What you will do

• Build AI and Generative AI solutions from prototypes through production using LLMs, RAG, machine learning, and AWS.
• Develop RAG applications with document processing, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and structured or unstructured data pipelines.
• Create AI-powered chatbots, virtual assistants, summarization, classification, extraction, and knowledge-management solutions.
• Integrate LLM platforms such as OpenAI and AWS Bedrock, and expose AI capabilities through REST APIs and microservices.
• Implement prompt engineering, automated validation, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and responsible AI practices.
• Provide technical leadership and manage a team of offshore AI engineers while collaborating with engineers, architects, data scientists, and business teams.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, data science, or a related technology field.
• Experience developing machine learning or Generative AI applications with LLMs, prompt engineering, Claude, and Kiro.
• Experience building RAG applications with embeddings and vector search.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, Git, CI/CD, software development lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Nice to have

• Experience leading AI/ML or Generative AI teams, AI agents, and agentic workflows.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, MLOps, LLMOps, AI evaluation, guardrails, and responsible AI.
• Experience with enterprise data or regulated industries such as banking, financial services, or insurance.
• Experience with Python, SQL, NLP, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases, and document stores.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
