Junior Software Developer (C++)

Location: Hybrid work in Mirabel, with two to three days per week at the Mirabel office and occasional work from the Saint-Laurent office; valid driver’s license or ability to commute required. Core working hours are 9:30AM–3:30PM.

What you will do

• Develop object-oriented C++ software components that reproduce aircraft behaviour in real time.
• Simulate digital and analog signals associated with aircraft avionics systems.
• Participate in problem analysis, requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and integration.
• Adapt software approaches across multiple simulation models and changing technical requirements.
• Support software users and collaborate with software, systems, avionics, and other engineering groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• Up to three years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of C++ and C#.
• Ability to learn aircraft systems, simulation models, and new technical concepts quickly while working autonomously.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing about technical subjects in English or French.
• Ability to meet Canada’s Controlled Goods Program requirements and, where applicable, ITAR requirements, and eligibility to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Status and Level II Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Rust or Java.
• Knowledge of FPGA development or technologies.
• Knowledge of aeronautics, avionics, or aircraft systems.
• Experience developing real-time simulation software or demonstrated interest in aviation.
