Senior Software Developer (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid, reporting to the Oshawa Elevation Center at least three times per week; Markham and Oshawa, Ontario

Salary: CAD 115,000–164,600 per year

What you will do

• Initiate, prototype, and test camera-based features and technologies for vehicles and trailers.
• Develop and release embedded features for the Vehicle Interface Processor, VCU, and related systems.
• Design and develop embedded software in an Agile environment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, TPMs, program managers, performance teams, and MLOps.
• Analyze, resolve, and track software defects through closure.
• Coordinate architecture, requirements, design, code, and test case reviews while planning implementation and performing code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of product development experience in automotive or a related industry.
• Experience developing or leading complex camera-based features.
• Experience across requirements analysis, systems design, and backend integration.
• Experience with Scrum or Agile software development and source-control tools such as GitHub.
• Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, and execution skills in a high-pressure environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• Experience with vehicle infotainment, vehicle trailering systems, or automotive electronic devices.
• Experience leading embedded software engineering development teams.
