AI/ML Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Remote-friendly within the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, or Spain

What you will do

• Design and implement AI-powered features across backend inference services and frontend interfaces in ClickHouse Cloud.
• Build scalable APIs connecting ClickHouse database capabilities with AI/ML inference systems and internal or external services.
• Develop integrations with AI/ML frameworks, tools, and ecosystem standards.
• Integrate models into production with monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation.
• Own ML pipelines covering data, training, evaluation, and model fine-tuning or custom training.
• Participate in the daytime on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Experience working directly with AI/ML technologies and deploying models in production.
• Hands-on experience with inference APIs, vector databases, Python, Jupyter, PyTorch, and common ML libraries.
• Experience with compute clusters such as Ray or Slurm and with designing reliable experiments for architectural decisions.
• Ability to own features from concept to production with minimal supervision and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services for AI/ML deployment.
• Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines; ClickHouse experience is a significant plus.
• Experience with embedding-based systems, including retrieval, ranking, recommenders, and representation learning.
