Senior Lead Controls Tech (AI)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; on-site system testing and airport travel required, with travel of up to 50%.

Salary: $73,200–$117,800 per year.

What you will do

• Design, program, and test PLC-based control systems for passenger boarding bridges, PCA units, GPUs, and related airport equipment.
• Develop and troubleshoot HMI applications and control code for local and remote interfaces.
• Integrate sensors, PLCs, networks, cloud data flows, vibration sensors, edge AI devices, and Azure-connected equipment.
• Perform installation support, diagnostics, testing, commissioning, and field support at airport sites.
• Support HIL testing, prototype control-logic simulation, system documentation, training materials, and control sequence diagrams.
• Lead root-cause analysis and act as a technical liaison for customers, engineering teams, and field technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of engineering experience or equivalent.
• Ability to travel 20–30%; the role may require travel of up to 50% for airport-site work.
• Ability to provide project-level guidance to technician groups and address potential technical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manuals.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, drive, bend, kneel, climb occasionally, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
