Sr Mechanical Drafter (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Monsey, New York, United States; onsite

Salary: $60,000–$85,000 per year

Designs, engineers, and manufactures components and systems for the aerospace and defense sectors, including electrical units and housings for naval applications.

What you will do

• Create detailed manufacturing drawings and work instructions for electronics enclosures and operator consoles.
• Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Plan feasibility studies and structured experiments, analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
• Support prototype fabrication, installation, debugging, testing, and manufacturability validation.
• Maintain engineering documentation, maintenance procedures, safety standards, and presentation materials.
• Provide technical guidance for equipment maintenance, root-cause investigations, and bid responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of progressive mechanical design engineering experience, including system development, testing, and manufacturing support.
• Expertise in mechanical system design, analysis, prototyping, and troubleshooting.
• Experience directing technicians or support teams during fabrication, testing, or equipment installation.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, engineering documentation, and mechanical testing methods.
• U.S. citizenship or U.S. Person status is required; the role may involve access to ITAR- or EAR-controlled information and additional security screening.
