Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY / East Aurora, NY

Salary: $85,000–$120,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional and cross-site engineering teams on production, development, and qualification programs.
• Plan and execute technical scope for multiple small projects or one larger project while managing milestones.
• Lead the design, development, analysis, and production of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic systems.
• Support technical, cost, and schedule oversight with Integrated Product Team leadership.
• Serve as the primary technical customer contact for assigned work areas and support proposals and cost development.
• Document designs, analyses, trade studies, and verification test results in clear technical reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent STEM discipline.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience and 3 years leading or supporting technical development projects.
• Experience designing, analyzing, developing, and producing complex electro-mechanical or hydraulic hardware.
• Experience with component design, development, and verification testing.
• Ability to communicate technical and programmatic information and manage competing stakeholder priorities.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance and access U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Engineering experience in defense or aerospace development projects.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Hydraulic background or practical hydraulic experience.
• Experience with Earned Value Management.
