TL;DR
Project Quality Assurance Specialist (Nuclear): Supporting quality assurance processes, documentation, audits, supplier oversight, and corrective actions for advanced nuclear projects with an accent on compliance, traceability, and nuclear safety. Focus on reviewing technical records, identifying nonconformances, coordinating quality activities across project functions, and maintaining objective evidence of compliance.

Location: Onsite in Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States. US citizenship is required due to government contract and clearance requirements.

What you will do

  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of project quality assurance plans, procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Review project documents, technical deliverables, records, and work products for completeness, accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
  • Coordinate quality assurance activities with project management, engineering, procurement, suppliers, and other functional organizations.
  • Participate in project reviews, surveillances, assessments, audits, and inspections, documenting results according to established processes.
  • Identify quality issues, nonconformances, adverse conditions, and process gaps; support corrective action and closure.
  • Track quality actions, findings, commitments, metrics, risks, and trends while maintaining organized quality records and advising project personnel.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting nuclear energy, the nuclear fuel cycle, advanced reactors, Department of Energy, or other highly regulated technical projects.
  • Experience with quality assurance, quality control, project quality, or compliance in the nuclear industry.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance principles, document control, records management, issue identification, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interpret and apply project requirements, procedures, specifications, standards, and contractual or regulatory obligations.
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools and electronic document, records, or quality management systems.
  • Ability to work onsite in Idaho Falls and meet client, site access, safety, security, and training requirements; US citizenship is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with project quality planning, supplier audits, surveillances, inspections, nonconformance control, root cause analysis, and corrective action programs.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance standards and quality management system requirements.
  • Experience working with engineering, procurement, construction, operations, or project controls organizations.
  • Quality certification or formal training in auditing, quality engineering, corrective action, or continuous improvement.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, science, business, construction management, or a related discipline.
