Legal Counsel - Compliance

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid working with 3 days in the office per week. Appropriate right to work in the UK is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice and guidance on corporate compliance laws and regulations, including financial crime requirements.
• Support business projects and transactions with compliance implications by identifying solutions that mitigate legal risk while maintaining commercial flexibility.
• Support risk assessments and alignment and oversight across Group Ethics & Compliance.
• Contribute to Group-wide compliance initiatives and implementation of effective compliance frameworks.
• Support compliance training, promote tone from the top, and educate employees on current and emerging risks and trends.
• Assist with integrity investigations and reporting to executive management and enterprise stakeholders when required.

Requirements

• UK legal qualification or equivalent relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
• Experience advising on corporate compliance, including financial crime and business conduct or ethics issues, in private practice, in-house, or a combination.
• Developing ability to collaborate, solve problems, and contribute to solutions for complex legal issues in a complex multinational business or highly regulated sector.
• Excellent influencing skills and experience managing stakeholders with varying priorities across different territories.
• Ability to work collaboratively, positively, and proactively in a fast-paced commercial environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple wide-ranging matters and conflicting deadlines.
• Strong influencing, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different stakeholders.
• Ability to manage own workstreams in an agile and commercial way while developing skills and delivering outcome-focused solutions.
