Senior Systems Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States; fully remote candidates may be considered with increased travel. Travel to customer sites, subcontractor locations, and company offices may be required 1–2 times per month, with up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and refine AWS infrastructure for production and non-production PLM environments, focusing on performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Install, upgrade, patch, and secure PLM application software and supporting infrastructure.
• Automate workloads with Ansible and implement PKI, TLS/SSL certificates, and secure authentication mechanisms.
• Administer Oracle and PostgreSQL RDS databases, including data seeding, schema configuration, troubleshooting, scripting, and performance optimization.
• Diagnose networking, infrastructure, application, and customization issues while coordinating with cross-functional teams and AWS Technical Support.
• Maintain technical documentation and conduct unit, integration, and system testing for application infrastructure.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. national security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one, are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience setting up and maintaining AWS cloud services for enterprise applications.
• Current Security+ and relevant AWS certifications.
• Experience with Ansible, AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Fleet Manager, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, virtualized environments, and enterprise cloud application performance optimization.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8+, Windows Server, Active Directory, AppStream, Oracle or PostgreSQL databases, and SQL scripting.

Nice to have

• Experience writing or updating Java, Python, C++, or C# code.
• Agile software development certifications or experience.
• Knowledge of aerospace and defense, DoD software development policies, cybersecurity requirements, and RMF compliance.
• Experience administering a mainstream PLM platform such as PTC Windchill, Arena, FlexPLM, Siemens Teamcenter, Oracle PLM, or Agile PLM.
