Junior Application Developer - SWE Assistant (part time job for students) (m/f/d)

Location: Košice, Slovakia; remote work is available only within Slovakia due to European taxation regulations.

Base salary: from €5.50 gross; final salary is negotiable and depends on seniority and previous experience.

What you will do

• Develop new and maintain existing applications that automate business processes.
• Gather requirements, analyze customer needs, and contribute to application and database design.
• Implement customer requirements using backend, frontend, and data technologies.
• Test functionality, apply basic security concepts, and maintain technical documentation.
• Provide second- and third-level application support, fix bugs, and implement feature updates.
• Estimate development and testing effort, track project tasks, and communicate progress to customers and managers.

Requirements

• Student specializing in programming with experience in application development.
• Knowledge of Java, SQL, JSON, REST-based web services and APIs, or frontend technologies such as Angular or React.
• Knowledge of Docker, GitLab, and source control.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• English at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Java with Spring Boot, Angular, React, Vue, Python, or SQL.
• Experience with testing tools, Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, Git, cloud technologies, or databases.
• German language skills.
