Software Engineer - On Call

Location: Middletown, Rhode Island, United States; occasional telework is available, but candidates must be local to the work location.

Salary: $22.00–$28.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Understand and modify applications using C++, React, CSS, Python, Linux, and Windows.
• Create and maintain software and test documentation.
• Support software development, evaluation, system integration, and testing.
• Develop unit and system integration test plans and procedures.
• Deliver software products on schedule with strong quality and attention to detail.
• Work within an Agile Scrum environment and follow software engineering standards.

Requirements

• Be a college student pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Have 2–4 years of high school or equivalent experience as stated in the posting.
• Have object-oriented programming experience in C++.
• Be familiar with IDEs such as Eclipse and tools including Jira, Bamboo, and Git.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to work independently and collaboratively in a mentored coding environment.

Nice to have

• Experience developing on UNIX- or Linux-based systems.
• Experience with web development or databases.
