Senior Data Analyst (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Data Analyst (Fintech): Responsible for building the reporting, generating insights, and creating data products at Valon, while also supporting the data infrastructure. Focus on the key metrics which drive business, improving the data platform, and understanding the inner workings of a highly complex industry.

Location: This Base Compensation pay range applies to our New York City located staff and may differ according to location.

Salary: $160,000 - $215,000

What you will do

• Write SQL queries, build reports and dashboards, and conduct analysis to empower business leaders to make effective decisions.
• Create reporting pipelines in dbt.
• Help establish and influence data process, tools, and systems that will allow us to make better decisions in a scalable way.
• Partner with other members of the data team to improve our data platform.
• Leverage our data tools to create products that increase the efficiency of our operations teams.
• Document our data, ensure data accuracy and create/improve data sets to meet Valon’s data needs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-time work experience in data analytics, product analytics, business analytics, or business intelligence, ideally at a tech company.
• Expert in SQL required (Python skills a plus).
• Experience with dbt.
• Experience using data visualization tools, especially Hex, Looker, or an equivalent BI tool.
• Experience working with data engineering teams and building out data infrastructure.
• Experience applying data and analytics concepts to business problems cross-functionally.
