Manager, Logistics Projects and Technology (Automation)

Location: Chicago/Aon Center, United States; travel averaging 10%–30% depending on the project

New hire base salary: $104,200–$130,200 per year; eligible for a performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Lead capital logistics projects from concept through closeout, including scope, budgets, approvals, construction, startup, and delivery.
• Drive the logistics automation and technology agenda, including concept development, business cases, savings identification, and funding approval.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for warehouse systems, automation equipment, robotics, conveyors, palletizing, and related technologies.
• Build the long-term automation roadmap and five-year project pipeline.
• Manage strategic technology vendors and coordinate suppliers, contractors, site personnel, IT, operations, and development partners.
• Improve existing technology and automation programs through support models, training, SOPs, safety initiatives, and operational optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain, Engineering, or a technical discipline preferred.
• 5–10+ years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, manufacturing, continuous improvement, or project management.
• Experience with automation, robotics, digital technologies, and warehouse systems such as WMS, LMS, and YMS.
• Strong project and program management skills, including roadmap development, prioritization, stakeholder coordination, and execution.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization and using KPIs, performance analysis, and operational scorecards.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements with measurable operational or financial impact.
