Project Manager Engineering (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Kennewick, Washington, USA, based out of the Kennewick engineering office; international and North American travel required, up to 50% on average with possible peaks above 50%.

Annual salary: $117,060–$175,600.

What you will do

• Manage engineering, process development, troubleshooting, and capital projects of varying size and scope, including projects exceeding $400 million.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, cost justifications, capital investment requests, contractor bid packages, and project reviews.
• Lead cross-functional implementation with Safety, Sanitation, Quality, Environmental, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, Procurement, and plant teams.
• Oversee project design, construction, installation, cost tracking, forecasting, training, startup assistance, and post-project support.
• Apply engineering specifications, project management standards, safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach and mentor internal and external resources and support the development of engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 5 years of practical experience as a Project Manager, Senior Engineer, or Plant Engineering Manager with capital expenditure experience.
• Experience with plant engineering, maintenance, operations, industrial construction, engineering requirements, codes, and food manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams in a matrix environment, with strong communication, analytical, organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Project, and practical experience with AutoCAD.
• Ability to work in office and plant environments, climb stairs or ladders, work around industrial equipment, and meet driving standards with a valid driver’s license.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IQF potato manufacturing and food and beverage manufacturing processes.
• OSHA 30-hour construction safety course.
• Internal PQ and APT training, or the ability to obtain this training quickly.
• Knowledge of hirify.global operations, processes, and programs.
