Senior AI Data Engineer

Location: On-site in McLean, Virginia; Boston, Massachusetts; Warner Robins, Georgia; or Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, United States

Salary: $115,000–$155,000 annually

What you will do

• Build and optimize data pipelines for generative AI and large language model applications.
• Engineer cloud data lakes and warehouses across AWS, Azure, and GCP using Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion architecture.
• Model, query, load, monitor, and tune SQL and NoSQL data stores at scale.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and data scientists to develop operational agentic AI systems.
• Automate model deployment with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and container orchestration.
• Monitor production AI systems, improve performance and reliability, and maintain clear technical documentation.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data/AI/ML, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience delivering Data/AI/ML solutions.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, enterprise data systems, SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and data pipeline technologies.
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, generative AI, LLMs, tool calls, agents, AI APIs, and RAG search.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, VS Code, and AI development extensions.

Nice to have

• Python and experience with PySpark, Pandas, Pydantic, FastAPI, CrewAI, LangChain, LangGraph, or related frameworks.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Experience with agentic frameworks such as Agent2Agent Protocol, AWS Bedrock Agents, Mastra, CrewAI, Strands, or AgentCore.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity, RMF, FedRAMP, or regulatory frameworks.
