TL;DR
Tech Lead - Data Engineer (Databricks/Azure/Lakehouse): Leading data engineering delivery, enterprise lakehouse adoption, and platform modernization with an accent on roadmap execution, technical governance, and scalable cloud data platforms. Focus on guiding Synapse-to-Databricks migration initiatives, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and developing high-performing engineering teams.

What you will do

  • Lead data engineering delivery, enterprise lakehouse adoption, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Execute roadmaps, prioritize work, manage dependencies, and provide technical governance for Databricks adoption and Synapse migration.
  • Translate business and product strategies into technical plans while coordinating architecture, engineering, product, and vendor teams.
  • Ensure data solutions are scalable, secure, operationally sustainable, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Develop engineering capabilities through onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.
  • Drive collaboration, accountability, technical excellence, and delivery execution across multiple teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, data platforms, or related technology roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading technical teams, engineering initiatives, or large-scale data platform programs.
  • Experience delivering cloud-based data and analytics solutions, including data pipelines, orchestration, storage, integration, and platform operations.
  • Experience with Agile roadmaps, backlog management, technical requirements, platform modernization, migration, data governance, and security.
  • Experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Enterprise Lakehouse, and large-scale Synapse-to-Databricks migration programs.
