Senior Director, Story & Communications

Location: United States; San Francisco. Work format: Hybrid.

Salary: $190,000–$245,000 annually for premium US locations including San Francisco; equity offered. Other US locations: $170,000–$225,000 annually.

What you will do

• Define ClickHouse’s market narrative and develop the communications strategy used by marketing and executive teams.
• Build the communications operating system, including announcement calendars, press materials, holding statements, reporter engagement, and launch amplification.
• Lead media relations across technology and business press and expand market understanding of the full platform.
• Build executive platforms for founders and leaders, including themes, appearances, and evaluation of speaking opportunities.
• Shape quarterly release moments and major launches across press, social, community, and field channels.
• Set standards for public voice, editorial quality, claims, metrics, and proof points while hiring and leading the communications team.

Requirements

• Experience building or rebuilding communications functions at a growth-stage infrastructure, developer, or data company.
• Proven success placing stories in tier-one business media and technology press.
• Experience working directly with CEOs and executive teams on messaging, preparation, and opportunity selection.
• Strong writing, editing, media judgment, and player-coach leadership skills.
• Credibility with engineers and developers and comfort communicating technical products to technical audiences.
• Experience directing agencies toward measurable outcomes and using analytics to guide communications priorities.
