Enterprise Solutions Architect (Federal Mortgage Technology)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; must be based in the U.S.

What you will do

• Define and maintain the target-state enterprise architecture across legacy systems, the modern platform, and transition bridges.
• Produce buildable solution packages including architecture diagrams, data models, API specifications, integration designs, test strategies, and requirements traceability.
• Own data architecture, governance, lineage, migration, and bridging for a 20-year accumulation of loan data.
• Design resilient APIs, batch exchanges, and system integrations connecting the federal agency with lenders, servicers, and partner systems.
• Plan legacy decomposition, phased capability migration, bridge services, and eventual decommissioning.
• Lead design reviews, establish architecture standards, mentor engineers and analysts, and advise federal customers on technical trade-offs.

Requirements

• Deep mortgage expertise covering origination, servicing, loss mitigation, claims, loan data, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience owning enterprise and solution architectures, complex integrations, data migrations, and production-ready design artifacts.
• Experience delivering in regulated federal environments or federal housing programs, including security, accessibility, authorization, and documentation constraints.
• Experience modernizing aging systems while keeping them operational and extracting undocumented business rules.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools in architecture or analysis work, with sound judgment about federal security, privacy, data, and authorization boundaries.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance; Secret clearance is not required.

Nice to have

• Salesforce or another configuration-first enterprise platform architecture experience.
• MISMO, URLA, or other mortgage data standards implementation experience.
• Experience with VA, FHA, USDA, or GSE housing programs and systems.
• Serverless architecture in AWS GovCloud or similar government-cloud environments.
• Experience with authorization packages, Zero Trust, or federal data governance.
