Senior Technical Writer (Salesforce/AWS)

Location: 100% remote for US-based candidates; availability required during core business hours from 8am–5pm ET.

Salary: $60,200–$80,200 annually, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Produce and maintain requirements, solution design, and operating model documentation for technical programs.
• Translate architecture, system diagrams, technical decisions, and stakeholder discussions into clear documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create, update, and revise architecture and technical diagrams using standard shapes, connectors, and notation.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, DevSecOps Engineers, cybersecurity teams, database administrators, federal clients, and delivery teams across Salesforce and AWS environments.
• Format, assemble, and finalize documentation deliverables for internal and client review while maintaining version control in Confluence or an equivalent platform.
• Ensure documentation consistency, quality, terminology, and Section 508 accessibility compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree with 5 years of experience, or a high school diploma with 7 years of experience.
• Required writing sample demonstrating the ability to translate technical material into clear, well-organized documentation.
• Required diagram-based work sample demonstrating the ability to interpret or reproduce architecture and technical diagrams.
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical diagrams using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar platforms.
• Technical acumen sufficient to document software, infrastructure, and systems concepts accurately, together with strong writing, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, Confluence, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Experience writing for federal government clients or supporting federal programs.
• Coursework, certification, or experience in technical writing, information design, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and Section 508 accessibility compliance.
