Developer Advocate (AI)

Location: Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule; standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most employees may work from home on Wednesdays, while Friday flexibility depends on the role and team.

Base salary: 175,000–235,000 CAD per year, plus potential equity, sales incentive pay where applicable, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and execute developer engagement strategies to drive adoption of Asana’s platform, APIs, and SDKs.
• Create technical content including sample applications, code tutorials, technical blog posts, and API documentation.
• Engage developers through forums, events, workshops, and social channels while advocating for their needs internally.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Design to provide feedback and influence platform roadmaps.
• Work with Marketing, Business Development, and Solutions Engineering on partner integrations and growth.
• Mentor junior advocates and community members and improve developer advocacy practices.

Requirements

• Experience as a Developer Advocate, Developer Relations Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer with substantial experience building developer community programs.
• Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, webhooks, and modern SDKs.
• Programming experience with languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
• Experience defining success metrics, analyzing API usage data, and translating community feedback into product improvements.
• Curiosity about AI tools, emerging technologies, agents, and agentic workflows.
