Senior AI Scientist (Fintech Risk AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $180,000–$243,500 annually, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and lead iterative research strategies for complex financial risk and fraud problems.
• Explore, structure, cleanse, sample, test, and validate large-scale data from relational and NoSQL sources.
• Build predictive statistical models and machine learning algorithms using complex and divergent data.
• Generate visualizations and communicate data-driven insights to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers, database managers, business analysts, and business leaders.
• Guide stakeholders in interpreting and applying research findings to business decisions.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience developing predictive models and performing statistical analysis in financial services or risk management.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Scala, plus experience with data manipulation and visualization tools.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and generative AI techniques including autoencoders, GANs, and VAEs.
• Experience with ETL, data warehousing, cloud computing, graph data, insight extraction, and Spark for data manipulation and ML feature creation.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including presenting complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
