Senior AI Scientist (Consumer Fraud Risk)

Salary: $180,000–$243,500 annual base pay

What you will do

• Design, build, evaluate, deploy, monitor, maintain, and defend machine learning models for consumer credit and fraud risk.
• Lead fraud risk modeling for evolving consumer money products and own the full model lifecycle.
• Partner with product, policy, engineering, operations, compliance, and other stakeholders to develop risk strategies.
• Contribute to technical strategy and decisioning roadmaps across multiple product lines.
• Develop scalable ML and data infrastructure and improve data access, storage, and usability for fraud use cases.
• Research and apply innovative machine learning and statistical methods to dynamic fraud problems.

Requirements

• Advanced degree at the MS level or above in computer science, data science, AI, mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related areas.
• Deep understanding of machine learning techniques including deep learning, tree-based models, reinforcement learning, clustering, time series, causal analysis, and natural language processing.
• Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Expertise in efficient, reusable data pipelines and ML frameworks, with authoritative knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Strong statistical, business problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in money fraud or credit risk, banking, finance, credit bureau, money movement products, or fraud detection data.
• Experience with graph modeling, experimentation design, MLOps infrastructure, or tooling.
• PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, Apache Airflow, Vertex AI, unsupervised learning, anomaly detection, Scala, or data-driven strategy optimization.
