Embedded Software Engineer (RF)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States; work arrangement: on-site. Applicants must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements.

Base salary: $130,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Develop software for operating and integrating ground antenna systems.
• Build reliable low-level software controlling motors, actuators, sensors, servos, encoders, controllers, and other electromechanical components.
• Build and maintain software interfaces with ground-station systems using low-level communication protocols.
• Integrate and test new electrical and mechanical systems with the antenna software stack.
• Develop automated tests and validation tools, troubleshoot integrated system behavior, and support field deployment and operation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, RF, and software engineers to bring new ground-station capabilities into operation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong Python development experience in Embedded Linux environments.
• Experience with networking, software communication protocols, low-level interfaces, and debugging.
• Professional experience integrating software with motors, actuators, servos, encoders, sensors, controllers, or other electromechanical systems.
• Experience with test automation and software validation.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the necessary U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with C or C++.
• Experience with RF systems, satellite communications, or ground-station systems.
• Experience deploying or supporting integrated software and electromechanical systems in field environments.
• Experience with GNU Radio or similar software-defined radio frameworks.
