Embedded Linux and QNX Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid working model with in-person collaboration in offices and remote work. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are available where applicable.

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and maintain embedded Linux and QNX platform software, kernels, and device drivers.
• Develop high-quality C and C++ software for remotely operated autonomous vehicles.
• Diagnose performance issues involving stack traces, core dumps, disk I/O, CPU load, memory, devices, and threading.
• Improve fault tolerance, diagnostics, testing, documentation, tooling, observability, and usability.
• Work with product, program, hardware, and engineering stakeholders to deliver platform solutions.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to engineering culture.

Requirements

• Strong C and C++ experience developing high-performance embedded Linux system software.
• Hands-on knowledge of embedded Linux kernels, device trees, Yocto, boot flows, or user-space systems software.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from design through delivery and optimisation.
• Ability to debug complex performance and reliability problems across system layers.
• Understanding of IPC mechanisms and middleware used in high-throughput robotics systems.
• Commitment to testing, documentation, observability, maintainability, and collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with NVIDIA robotics or automotive platforms.
• Experience with QNX or another RTOS, secure boot, or ROS-style frameworks.
