Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work arrangements may include in-office and remote work depending on role and business needs

Base salary: $105,593.46–$142,861.74 USD per year; eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Develop embedded software for new and legacy robotics automation products.
• Control robot motion, interface with vacuum chamber subsystems, and implement self-diagnostics.
• Define product features with engineering, product management, and customers, and communicate software requirements and design changes.
• Participate in design reviews and apply automated testing and modern software development practices.
• Support the design of test equipment and robotic hardware or system setups.
• Investigate and troubleshoot field issues with manufacturing and field service engineers, remotely or on site.

Requirements

• Proficiency in C++11 or later.
• Experience with embedded real-time, multithreaded, and interrupt-driven systems such as QNX or Real-Time Linux.
• Experience with BSP and low-level hardware interfaces, including FPGA integration, hardware abstraction layers, interrupt handling, and board bring-up.
• Experience applying object-oriented design practices.
• Experience with software development lifecycles, revision control, remote debugging, software releases, and preferably Agile environments.
• Ability to work under the role's hybrid arrangement in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, with specific in-office expectations determined during the hiring process.

Nice to have

• Experience addressing customer field issues.
• Experience with robotics, kinematics, dynamics, or motion planning.
• Experience with the EtherCAT software stack.
• Familiarity with machine learning.
• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages.
