Software Engineering Intern (Marine Electrification)

Location: Onsite at the headquarters in Torrance, California, United States. Summer internship runs from June 14 to August 20, 2027.

Salary: $42 per hour

hirify.global is developing electric marine technology by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs for consumer, commercial, and defense applications.

What you will do

• Contribute to the boat infotainment unit, mobile application, backend, or boat firmware.
• Own a software project end to end and deliver work that advances the business.
• Collaborate with software engineers and stakeholders across the company.

Requirements

• Familiarity with at least one general-purpose programming language.
• Strong software development fundamentals and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience with standard development tools such as an IDE, Git, and the command line.
• Ability to collaborate, communicate progress clearly, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work onsite from the Torrance, California headquarters during the summer internship.

Nice to have

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science or a related field.
• Frontend or mobile development experience.
• Backend development experience with Python or TypeScript and AWS.
• Firmware development experience with STM32 microcontrollers.
• Previous successful internships, enthusiasm for boating, or interest in clean energy.
