Software Development Engineer - New Graduate (C++/Python)

Location: San Diego, California; Washington, D.C.; or Boston, Massachusetts. Full-time on-site work is required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and ship features, tools, and tests in C++ and/or Python.
• Develop embedded C/C++ firmware and real-time software controlling UAVs in flight.
• Build autonomy software for mission behavior, planning, multi-agent coordination, decision-making, perception, and platform integration.
• Develop unit and integration tests, run simulation and bench testing, and investigate failures using logs, telemetry, traces, and debugging tools.
• Integrate autonomy capabilities with vehicles, sensors, mission computers, and operator or command-and-control systems through software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and bench testing.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, document technical workflows, and participate in code reviews and design discussions.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Graduation must occur between December 2026 and August 2027.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software fundamentals.
• Ability to own well-scoped tasks with limited guidance and communicate progress clearly.
• Ability to work full-time in person is required.

Nice to have

• Project experience in robotics, controls, planning, computer vision, or machine learning.
• Prior software internship or co-op experience.
• Familiarity with simulation tools, ROS/ROS2, hardware-in-the-loop, or software-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience with camera, EO/IR, IMU, GPS, radar, or multimodal AI/ML data.
• Experience with Linux, Git, embedded systems, real-time software, or safety-critical software practices.
