Customer Reliability Engineer or Technical Specialist (Entry-Level) (Mechanical Seals)

Location: United States; on-site at customer facilities with travel as needed

What you will do

• Evaluate customer applications, mechanical seals, and related equipment, then recommend improvements to reliability and mean time between repairs.
• Direct the installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and auxiliary support systems.
• Collect, analyze, and report customer data using reliability management software such as ServiceMax.
• Maintain equipment surveys and provide technical recommendations, assistance, and counseling to customers, vendors, and internal personnel.
• Deliver technical presentations and training for customer maintenance and operations personnel.
• Support Management of Change activities and review new equipment data with project engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred for the Customer Reliability Engineer title; a high school diploma or equivalent is required for the Technical Specialist title.
• Experience with mechanical seals, rotating equipment, basic engineering principles, personal computers, and software.
• Knowledge of labor reporting, work order variances, QAD, MFG-PRO, SAP, or equivalent systems.
• Experience with continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, SMED, Lean, or equivalent activities.
• Strong MS Office knowledge, machining-practice knowledge, business communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed and work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
