Embedded System Specialist - CF-18 Fighter Jet (North Shore)

Location: Hybrid in Mirabel, Canada, with two to three days per week at the Mirabel office and occasional work from the Saint-Laurent office. Core working hours are 9:30 AM–3:30 PM.

What you will do

• Contribute to projects improving the operational effectiveness of the CF-18 fighter aircraft.
• Develop and enhance mission-computer functionality for armament, communications, tactics, information processing, and human-machine interfaces.
• Investigate technical problems and discuss potential solutions with clients, pilots, operational specialists, and Canadian Armed Forces members.
• Analyze system and software requirements and contribute to design, modelling, and programming.
• Perform integration, testing, debugging, software qualification, and in-service support activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aeronautical, software, computer, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Up to two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate technical subjects orally and in writing in English or French.
• Collaborative and independent working style, with strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on defence systems involving military aircraft, armament, and related mission capabilities.
• Eligibility for Canada’s Controlled Goods Program and for Government of Canada Reliability Status and Level II Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Interest in aeronautics, avionics, defence systems, or aircraft-system operations.
• Experience developing, integrating, testing, or debugging real-time embedded software.
• Knowledge of mathematical models or algorithms related to flight mechanics.
• Experience with Ada, Assembly, MATLAB, C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or Unix.
• Ability to communicate in both English and French.
